Found Urban Art by JOAB
JOAB was up to his old tricks tonight and this time I thought I would document his shenanigans.
He told me the other night that he had left another piece out on the street for someone to find and I told him then, he should let me at least document the pieces he's leaving out. He's been setting them out in our neighborhood on Greenwood Ave N. We saw a guy from our condo window walking down the street with one of JOAB's pieces under his arm yesterday. I think I could see the smile on the guys face from my 4th story view.

And to the sweet spot.
I'm free, someone take me home please!

The Eagle Has Landed
"Eagle 1"
29" x 36"
Acrylic & Spray on Canvas
2008
If you have ever said to yourself, "I wonder what it would look like if John painted a bald eagle on a 2ft x 3ft canvas using only acrylic and spray paint.", look no further. Because that is exactly what I have done! This painting was a gift for my parents for Christmas.
I hope everyone had a good Christmas and has a good new year. Don't forget to come to Bherd Studios next show on January 9th.

"C Squared": Urban works by CASH & Chris Olson
If you missed the grand re-opening of Bherd Studios in December, you won't want to miss out on checking out our new digs! "C Squared" features the urban art work of Seattle artists CASH & Chris Olson. Influenced by street artists, CASH uses spray paint, acrylic, and watercolor to create his works on canvas, paper, and wood. Using metaphor and symbolism, Olson illustrates his cultural commentary of a world turned upside down. Surreal, dark and scary; unknown events lurk around every corner.
Artist Reception for the Greenwood-Phinney art walk is on Friday, January 9th from 6-9pm. The show will run through January 30th.

New Paintings By John Osgood
These are all new paintings that I have been working on over the last two weeks. I finally have my work area back and it is great. Whenever I move to a new place or my painting situation changes, that moment I get back in there, I attack. I take any painting that I have been waffling on, any painting that I don't think is going to work, and I start over or adjust. It's funny how some of these paintings come about. I mean I can start a painting and then let it sit for months. Then pick it up and adjust it by splatting some paint on it and then boom! It begins to work again. Please tell me what you think. I love feedback.

Not only has Bherd been hard at work getting our space ready for the December 12th artwalk and re-Grand Opening of our gallery, but we've also been working with the Chamber and Boys & Girls Club along with super awesome local artists who have donated their time to paint 4 foot tall snowmen that will be sold by silent auction the night of the art walk.

The Snowmen ( and Snow Woman) Are Coming!
First off, Happy holidays to everyone! Doesn't it feel like just a little bit ago we were outside playing in the summer sun and now it's the winter breeze. Isn't it funny how that happens? But now it's December, Christmas time, the time of giving and what a better way to give than to help out the Boys and Girls Club. The photo above is snowmen/women in progress. As part of the Art Up Greenwood-Phinney monthly artwalk kick-off on December 12th from 6-9pm 15 snowmen will be auctioned off at various participating art walk stops. All proceeds will be given to the N. Seattle Boys & Girls Club to support annual memberships for families who are not able to afford the annual fee.
There are still a couple left needing an artist to paint them, so please email us right away if you are able to help out: speakandbherd@hotmail.com
