Siolo Thompson at Gainsbourg: Fri, Nov 12 from 6pm - late
"Saturn" by Siolo Thompson
Stop by Gainsbourg this Friday during the Art Up monthly artwalk. We're featuring new work by Seattle artist Siolo Thompson, who recently returned from a painting stint in London. Her show will be up until December 8th at Gainsbourg and she is also a part of our "Take 5" show in our gallery also opening Friday, Nov 12th.

Thompson is a visual artist, writer and animator based in Seattle, WA. As an artist she focuses primarily on the human form and always tries to incorporate a strong sense of narrative to her work. She wants each image she creates to have a story book feel to it, that draws the viewer into a different world. She often uses animals and magical elements in her paintings and tries to explore the relationships that we have to nature and the sublime. She consideres herself a bit promiscuous as an artist and often ventures into film, animation and creative writing.
For this series of new work showing at Gainsbourg, she is focusing on mechanical and robotic imagery. She utilizes a beautiful pallete of vibrant colors which heightens the fantasy-esque realms that entices viewers to escape within.
